Romanian Internal Affairs orders two C-27J Spartan aircraft

The Romanian Ministry of Internal Affairs has taken another step in strengthening its aerial emergency response capabilities with an order for two Leonardo C-27J Spartan tactical transport aircraft under the European Union’s SAFE (Security Action for Europe) initiative.

The aircraft will be operated by the General Inspectorate of Aviation, a structure under the Ministry of Internal Affairs coordinated by Romania’s Department for Emergency Situations. They will support national and European missions focused on emergency management, civil protection, humanitarian assistance, and disaster response.
